Smoke Detector Should be Replaced about every 10 Years
Smoke Detector Expiration - The National Fire Protection Association recommends to replace all smoke alarms, including alarms that use 10-yr batteries and hard-wired alarms when they are 10 years old or sooner if they do not respond when tested.
The Association has found an electrician (MARK RAUGH ELECTRIC - 484-955-3006) that is offering to replace smoke detectors for an average of $20 PLUS the cost of the smoke detector. See "Files" Area of the website for a sample of the smoke detectors that he most commonly installs. You can also obtain your own smoke detector and he will do the install.
You can contact MARK RAUGH at 484-955-3006 for more details.
